There's no doubt that for a bride to be, planning her perfect wedding is a minefield of choices, tasks and stresses!! Going through it myself at the moment, I now sympathise with friends who've been through it and came out the other end with a little less hair and about
7lbs lighter!!
After having got the main considerations sorted, eg the date, venue, flowers, car and dresses and suits it's time to accessories and think of the finer points - one of these being what headwear and jewellery the bride will feel comfortable in and something that goes with the dress she's chosen.
Now this does NOT mean buying the biggest, sparkliest tiara you can find and matching it with hundreds of dripping stones or the brighest, biggest crystal jewellery! Ever heard of the phrase 'less is more'? It's the perfect saying when selecting your bridal jewellery. You want your husband and your guests to be looking at YOU all day and NOT your headwear!!
Good quality freshwater pearl tiaras and jewellery are very reasonably priced and are excellent for bringing out the best of any complexion. They're classic, classy and versatile.
Until you start looking seriously, it's hard to imagine that tiaras come in so many different shapes and sizes!!
There are the classic 3-4" high tiaras, fully round crown tiaras and band tiaras which are a fantastic choice for anyone wanting impact but simplicity. There are also tiara combs which are personally my favourites because the offer the detail of a standard tiara but to me, far more comfortable as they slip in nicely to your hair without having a band digging in your head and there are also barettes and hair pins to think about.
Barettes and pins are ideal for a slightly older bride who wants a bridal hair accessory with impact but more suited to a very simple dress or white/cream suit.
There is something for everyone out there but take the time to get your dress first and then think about simple yet effective accessorising and remember, you want the best but most likely you're only going to wear it once so don't break the bank and start your married life worried about debt, there ARE affordable and high quality accessories out there!!
